Time flies…

…when you’re having fun (and little ones are keeping you on your toes)! So capturing those precious early weeks, those exploratory first steps and those rare moments where the whole family are together can be truly priceless. The name of the game with family shoots is ‘relaxed fun’ - playing, laughing, cuddling, showing each other all the love, sharing our favourite jokes. In other words, just having lots of unbridled fun! That way, the memories I’m capturing are the most natural they can be. I like to come to your favourite place so that family fun takes centre stage and not the camera.

Some of my top tips for capturing the good times!

  1. Dress for the season. Don’t be afraid to don your favourite dress in spring and summer, embrace autumnal tones while the leaves are turning, grab your favourite cosy scarf and hat during the winter months, and go all out festive sparkles in the run up to Christmas.

  2. Take some time to think about locations that are special to you. I’m always happy to make suggestions, but it’s lovely to base your shoot around your favourite place - a much-loved walk, somewhere that conjures beautiful memories, or even just the comfort of your own home.

  3. Bring snacks! Family shoots are always short and sweet, but there’s nothing worse than having a camera in your face if you’re having a slightly ‘off’ day, unless of course you’ve got some pick-me-up snacks…and I’m talking snacks for all - you, the children and/or the dog!

  4. Get ready to cuddle, tickle, bundle, dance, climb trees, puddle-jump, tell jokes, throw leaves…you name it (depending on the season), we’ll do it!
